How to Reduce Spam Score for Your Website
Spam score is a measure used by Moz to indicate the likelihood of a website being penalized by search engines. A high spam score can negatively impact your site's ranking and credibility. Here's how you can reduce the spam score for your website:

        Remove Low-Quality Backlinks:

Use tools like Google Search Console to identify and disavow low-quality or spammy backlinks.
Reach out to webmasters of low-quality sites linking to your site and request link removal.
        Improve Content Quality:

Ensure your content is unique, valuable, and relevant to your audience.
Avoid duplicate content and thin content that doesn’t provide value.
        Enhance User Experience:

Improve site navigation to make it user-friendly.
Ensure your website loads quickly and is mobile-friendly.
        Avoid Over-Optimization:

Use keywords naturally and avoid keyword stuffing.
Ensure your meta tags, titles, and descriptions are unique and descriptive.
        Check for Technical Issues:

Regularly audit your site for broken links, 404 errors, and server issues.
Use HTTPS to secure your site and gain trust from visitors and search engines.
        Build High-Quality Backlinks:

Focus on earning backlinks from reputable and relevant sites.
Engage in guest blogging and provide valuable content to authoritative sites in your industry.
        Maintain a Clean Link Profile:

Regularly monitor your link profile for any new, potentially harmful links.
Use tools like Moz, Ahrefs, or SEMrush to keep track of your backlinks.
        Improve Social Signals:

Increase your presence on social media platforms.
Encourage social sharing of your content to build natural links and traffic.
By implementing these strategies, you can gradually reduce the spam score of your website and improve its overall health and ranking.

            Hi there,

Jo from the Help Team here.

Moz's Spam Score is the percentage of sites with similar features we've found to be penalized or banned by Google. To improve this score I would recommend reading our guide which explains the 27 factors used to make up this score. You can then look at your site and investigate areas you would like to improve on your site:

            https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/spam-score

            Best of luck!

            Jo

How To Stop Moz Crawl From Prepending /blog/ on all our site urls that it crawls

Hello, At some time in the past our WP site had urls like this: www.oursite.com/blog/post-title-pretty-link The site has not used that url structure for quite some time, but Moz crawl is still hitting every post with /blog/prepended and as a result is generating thousands of 404s.  When the /blog/ is removed from the url, then the urls work fine. Where are those old urls being stored and how can we update them? How do we address this issue? Any assistance will be appreciated. Thanks!

Moz not updating the spam score metrics

Hi Experts, I have done everything to come over the following metrics flagged as spam on my website by Moz, few months ago. But, Moz has not updated the spam score yet. ✓Low MozTrust or MozRank Score - improved from 2 to 4.5
✓Large Site with Few Links - My website have more than 6K backlinks
✓Small Proportion of Branded Links - My website have a good amount of branded backlinks
✓Thin Content - Every webpage on website has more than 500 words content
✓External Links in Navigation - There is no external link in navigation other than social media links
✓No Contact Info - The proper address has alreay been placed on website footer
✓Low Number of Pages Found - I am wondering if there are any standard score or number of links to reach to remove these flag?
Also, please suggest some ways that will help me improve moz spam score at faster rate. Thanks for your help in advance!"

Is the update site crawl feature following robot.txt rules?

I noticed that most of the errors would not be occurring if Moz's tool followed the rules implemented in sites robots.txt. Has anyone else seen this problem and do you know if Moz will fix this?

I have recently switzed to SSL on ramxpert.dk, now Moz is not able to crawl the site anymore

Hi Moz I have recently switzed to SSL on ramxpert.dk, now Moz is not able to crawl anymore. When I look at the crawl report there is just one fault displayed: "403 : Received 403 (Forbidden) error response for page." How can i solve this issue asap? I was not aware that there would be any issues with moz when activating a SSL certificate on the site. The campaign with the problem is: ramxpert.dk. Regards

I'm checking keyword difficulty for two different sites. Would love to view the results by site instead of just one large list. Is that possible? Or would it just be easier to keep the lists separate in Excel and just import when I want an updated report?

I have keyword lists for two sites. Is there a way to label them in the keyword difficulty tool (List A, List B) so I can just view results for a particular site? Or do I need to run the report with List A, export results, delete those keywords, then run the report for List B?

Why does it show (in Moz) that we don't have any meta descriptions on our site when we do?

We have over 1,330 pages that say we are "Missing Meta Description Tag" when I spot check all of them have meta descriptions? Can you please explain to me why Moz is picking up that we do not have meta descriptions when we do. Our website  http://www.betheboss.ca Please help. I would like a accurate measure of meta descriptions that are missing.

When attempting to crawl my site, I'm getting the error: Oops! That URL doesn’t resolve, which means your report will be blank. Please fix the issue or change the URL. What's going on here?

Why isn't seo moz properly crawling my site?

In my campaign results, only 2 pages have been crawled, when there are many more.  Also, when I do the on-page evaluation for my homepage and the main keyword, I get a grade of F, with a ton of errors that my page actually does not have.  It's as if SEO moz is having trouble crawling through my site. Any ideas on this?
